Regarding October's Featured Detective

Dear detectives,

After much deliberation, we have decided not to name a Featured Detective for the month of October. Unfortunately, none of the submissions we received posed a correct-enough theory of the case. Evidently it was a more challenging mystery than we realized. That said, you will not be missing out on an opportunity to be Featured Detective. Instead, at some point this year, when we received two absolutely outstanding solution letters in a month, we will name two featured detectives.

Start putting together evidence and preparing your solution, because the deadline for November’s featured detective is approaching next week. Maybe this will be the month where we name two detectives!
